floating dead body in Mandangin, Sampang Island

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Quick Response Team (TRC) assisted by local fishermen finally found the bodies of the residents who drowned, in the middle of the Mandangin Sampang Island border sea on Wednesday (3/4/2019) at 16:30 WIB.

Information obtained by mediamadura.com, the victim is known as Moh Saleh from Gunung Maddah Village, Sampang City.

The victim was found lifeless, after being declared missing for a day. The 28-year-old man disappeared while searching for shrimp at the mouth of the Kemuning river since Tuesday (2/4) afternoon.

“Thank God, after the team deployed, both the police, BPBD, and the fishermen looking for the sinking victim, they finally met in the middle of the Mandangin Island sea border,” said Head of Sampang Regional Police Headquarters Iptu Agung Widodo, Wednesday afternoon.

Agung said, the victims were found floating in a face down position still using blue clothes and shorts and complete with shrimp container containers. Then, the officer finally evacuated the corpse to the funeral home in Gunung Maddah Village.

“Now we have submitted it to the family,” he explained.

According to him, the victim had indeed been a fisherman. At the time of the incident, the victim and two of his colleagues searched for shrimp at the river mouth. In the middle of the trip, the victim disappeared without his colleague knowing.

“Two of his friends reported on the incident and the family assisted other communities to look for it from Tuesday afternoon to night, because of the lack of lighting then it was continued the next day until the afternoon was discovered,” he concluded.
