In the Chelyabinsk region, a locomotive and a VAZ-2108 collided at a railroad crossing. No one was injured, but several trains were detained, in which hundreds of passengers were traveling.
The accident occurred at about 22 hours on March 27 in Chebarkul.
– The 19-year-old driver of the G8 suddenly left for the crossing under the closing barrier in front of the upcoming passenger train No. 97 Tynda – Kislovodsk. The driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient and collisions could not be avoided, the press service of the South Ural Railway reported. – As a result of the collision, the car was trapped under the locomotive.

The press service of the department of the Ministry of Interior in Chebarkul specified that the car had stalled on the tracks.
– Having seen the moving locomotive, the 19-year-old driver got out of the car, closed the door and disappeared from the accident scene, fearing responsibility, – told the police. – In the accident, no one was hurt. Later, DPS inspectors tracked down the owner of the car and brought to administrative responsibility for leaving the place of the accident. The issue of bringing the driver to responsibility for violation of traffic rules through the railways (article 12.10 of the Administrative Code. – Approx. Author).
Lokomotiv did not go off the rails, but the accident led to delays of several passenger trains.
– Passenger train No. 97 Tynda – Kislovodsk departed from Chebarkul station with a delay of 46 minutes, train No. 391 Chelyabinsk – Moscow was delayed for 20 minutes.
