The body without identity had shocked residents around the Karang Kamulyan Site Attraction, Ciamis Regency. Because the corpse found a sand dredger was floating only wearing a sweater that read Balad Galuh, which is known to be a PSGC Ciamis supporter. The corpse was found on the Citanduy River, on Sunday morning (31/3/2019).
Initially, Ojat (43) a local resident who was dabbling in sand found the victim floating only wearing a sweater and without wearing pants, in the middle of the Citanduy river, he then tried to drag him to the position of the corpse on the riverbank. When the wood was propped up at the edge of the river so it would not be washed away, Ojat then contacted other residents.
While visitors to the Karang Kamulyan Tourism Object, had a commotion because of the stinging smell from the direction of the river. “After being approached by visitors, it turned out that the floating corpse was actually a human corpse,” said Karangkamulya Village Chief Mohamad Abdul Haris when met by HR Online at the scene.
Residents said that no one recognized the victim, the villagers finally informed the tourist of the corpse’s discovery, before finally reporting it to the Cijeungjing District Police.
AKP Hendra Virmanto, Head of Criminal Investigation at Ciamis Regional Police said after receiving reports from residents about the discovery of the corpse, officers were immediately deployed to the scene. Residents together with the Pusdalops BPBD and PMI Ciamis evacuated the victims, the victims were then taken to RSUD Ciamis.
“After matching the fingerprints, the victim was named Abdul Rohman, 22 years old, a resident of Beuti Hamlet, Ciparay Village, Cidolog District,” said AKP Hendra.
According to AKP Hendra, there were no signs of abuse on the body of the victim, so for the time being the victim was allegedly drowned and dragged by the current of the Citanduy river. “We are still investigating and also contacting the families of victims,” he concluded. (Ndu / R7 / HR-Online)
